The Bahamas - Atlantis

I think our kids would rather spend all day on the beach

and get chased by turquoise waves instead of Texas fire ants.

Just got back from a week in the Bahamas - it was a great trip. Our friends, The Calls, invited us to join them at the Atlantis for a little get away.

The resort is pretty amazing - and tons of things to do - from the waterparks with all the pools, lazy rivers, waterslides etc, ....

to exploring the resort with massive aquariums and gardens,

and above all... the beach.

Which is pretty nice when you can almost hit the water with a rock from your hotel balcony...

Definite highlights:
- Thanks to the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) - having Ziggy Marley perform on the beach just a little ways down the beach from our balcony on the first night. Seemed fitting for a proper introduction into the Caribbean. (hence the background music on the video)
- Amelia and Melisa getting to swim with a dolphin.






- Team Thunder (Amelia, Rick, and I) winning the "most creative" sand castle in the sand castle building contest.
- Kenny (Rick and Carol's son) winning best overall.
- A half day out fishing chasing Barracuda, Groupers, Bonefish, and others with Rick and his kids.
- Haggling with the vendors in the Straw Market for souvenirs - and fake Coach bags for the teenagers.
- Eating Conch Frita's - the meat of the conch shell.
- Just spending time with everyone.
