Father-Son Trip

More of a post so Jett can remember it. Couple weekends back me and Jett (minus Melisa and Amelia) headed up to Seattle...Here he is patiently waiting to board the airplane to fly up at 5AM.

He got to take in a typical rainy and dreary pacific northwest day and watch the Veterans Day Parade in fair Auburn.

While I went up to celebrate my best friend's birthday in fitting fashion with a Seahawk victory over the Lions.

While Jett got to monopolize some grandparent time.

Dirty & Happy

Dirty faced baby

Dirty faced girl - she was trying to put makeup on with at purple marker, it is a little goth for my tastes

Happy baby - how he looks after every nap, he is so cute

Happy girl - I know its blurry, but all the dance party pics where and she still looks so happy

Roar

Dragon and Monster were the costumes of choice this year

and I have to say Monster was a perfect fit for Jett

he is busy busy busy, he was running laps at the ward party, then broke not one, but two bottles of root beer that where set up for a ring toss.

Which landed him a firm place on mom's hip for the remainder of the evening, (though really I think it is where he likes to view the world anyways)

Amelia's story is cute one this year, we were having trouble getting her to commit to a costume, so we decided to stick with one of her princess dress up and not worry about it. That is until she adamantly announced she was going to be a dragon for Halloween only a few days before. I knew the costume she meant so Josh called a slew of stores and found 1 left in the city, which was quickly secured for Amelia. It was well worth it to hear the loud "Thank you MOM!" when we picked it up.

She loved the costume so much, she wanted to put it on the second Josh got home so he could help her "fly", and when you asked her what she was she would say "I am a dragon, Roar!" and then dramatically stomp her feet. And of coarse she had to have a dragon dance. Then we convinced her that if the house was scary that she could just roar at it before she went up and she would be okay, so cute.

Trick or treating was the best, Amelia was so big she would go up all by herself (though we were near by) and Jett loved the idea too and toddled up to that door after her, though he would just grab the offered candy and run, trying to get it out of the wrapper before we could put it in the bag, (we did let him have some.) Amelia summed it up the best by telling us "this is fun".

Yet another October tradition

Hook 'em! Even though we live here for some reason Amelia is less thrilled when we see the Longhorns.

Since we've moved back to Austin - we always make it out to the Fall Festival at Crowes Nest Farm. Melisa was busy all day judging talent auditions so it was just me and the two little ones. This was my view most of the day as they ran off away from me.

Amelia got to pet an owl even though she kept telling me afterward that it was "too big" and "too scary".

Always have to take the obligatory Hay Ride through the farm - that ends in the Ostrich pasture - it is a little nuts.

And Amelia found her some of her new favorite animals - Llamas and Emus.

The Pumpkin and Monsters

Picking out the perfect pumpkin at the YMCA's pumpkin patch.

Drawing out the face.... followed by lots of seed scooping.

The team and the finished jack o' latern

Amelia was very excited for the birthday pumpkin (anything with candles).

Friday night we made it to our first Texas Stars game against the Lake Erie Monsters.

Lots of scoring 5-3 and the stars came out on top - but no fights despite Amelia yelling "fight! fight!".
And our own monster.

Play

Not much going on this past week just kids at play (and mom playing with her camera)
