The Great Outdoors

Our backyard is one of the reasons we wanted to move here.  The kids get a lot of enjoyment exploring outside and having little adventures.  This winter I expanded the creek to create Melisa Island.

One time I caught Amelia on the dinosaur track side of the creek sitting on a boulder, splashing her feet , and talking to the fishes that swim in there.
Both Jett and Amelia were even daring enough to take a "polar bear swim" back in December.
But ever since we moved here both have been bothering me to take them up to the top of the "mountain" behind our house.  Last saturday we made the ascent.  It was very steep and probably not the safest thing to do with a 6 and 4 year old but with Dads help we made it all the way up.

and got to see home way down below.  It was definitely worth the view.
