An All Austin Weekend

We knocked quite a handful of things off our "Austin things to do list" this weekend. Any good weekend starts with breakfast tacos at Rudy's

Before running down to University of Texas campus Explore UT day to meet Bevo (The Texas Longhorn mascot).

They erred on caution and wouldnt allow you to get too close - probably a good thing - a goring would have been kind of a let down for the day.

Instead we went down to the alumni center to let the kids get closer to something a little more inanimate, but still to scale

and one for both of them.

My big thrill was finally making it inside the studio on the sixth floor of the communications building where they have shot Austin City Limits up until this year, they built a new facility downtown at the W hotel.

I was happy they still had that iconic skyline set up.

And even though there was no band for us to watch - PBS still brought out Miss Rosa to sign some autographs and talk to the kids, along with Clifford the Big Red Dog.

I think one of Melisa's favorite things was the knitted installation over at the Blanton Museum of Art.

Jett and Amelia had a blast.
