1st Weekend in December Activities

On Friday evening we headed out to Burnet Texas for "Main Street Bethlehem". It is the second year we have gone and its a good opportunity to see the nativity played out. A church in Burnet puts it on - they have a city block that is built like a bethelem that you wander through seeing all the shopkeepers, craftsman, roman guards, beggars, tax collectors, etc. - even camels, donkeys, sheep and ram. After passing through all the city you end up being lead through the final inn's (which of course have no vacancy) and end up finding Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus.

After we got through Bethlehem we drove on over to Marble Falls to do their trail of lights.

They set up theirs along the lake shore - so its nice to see the lights bouncing off the water.

Ultimately ending up for a little visit on Santa's lap. For some reason Jett went stiff.

Saturday we spent the afternoon in Texas Memorial stadium getting tan and soaking in sunshine (Jealous?). Our high school football team had made it to the state quarterfinals.

Unfortunately they lost 21-20. But Amelia found a new passion - cleaning the bleachers.

Then after the game and pizza we ran over to the State Capitol for the Christmas singalong.

and tree lighting ceremony... and yes Jett's finger is in his nose.

Oh that Bethlehem thing sounds awesome. Oh yeah - and the sunshine thing. Nothing but Christmas downpours around here.
