My SXSW recap

One of the great things about living in Austin is come every March - the South by Southwest musical festival consumes the city. This year was pretty fun - Caught quite a few bands... here were some of the highlights.

Stone Temple Pilots - pretty much a step back in time about 15 years to high school.

The Wooden Birds - basically the continuation of American Analog Set...

Really good shoegaze from an Austin Local Band - Ringo Deathstar... my camera phone kept dying because of the constant texting back and forth from other attendees - but the other highlights were Neon Indian, Ra Ra Riot, This will Destroy you, and you will know us by the trail of dead, Vivian Girls, Holy Ghost Tent Revival (really underestimated the sound when these guys were setting up)... and plenty others... wasnt keeping good notes. Then Gwar was walking around 6th Street just for no apparent reason....

I forced my co-worker to stand in with Beefcake the Mighty. Cant wait for next year.
