The Canada Part...

While Melisa and Amelia relaxed with grandma and grandpa - i made my second trip up to the great white north (Queen Charlotte Islands British Columbia - just south of Alaska) to do some fishing (unfortunately this time...not a lot of catching).
It was about as remote as you can get - this is pretty much the area where we fished.

It takes two flights out of Vancouver BC - the last one being a Grumman Goose sea plane - its pretty fun to land right on the sea.

This is the lodge where you stay - for the three days of non stop salmon fishing.

While the salmon keenly avoided my line - lots of other "junk fish" did not.

I almost enjoyed catching them as much cause then you were able to throw them out and feed the bald eagles that would watch you from the tree tops waiting for a free lunch.

Sometimes when the fish was too heavy they had to swim them back to shore.

Hey Elder McKinney,

It was so cool to hear from you the day after I signed up for the Swiss Mission website. What a nice surprise. I didn't expect to find you living so far south, I always associated you with the Pacific Northwest - but I guess we all have to find a job somewhere - not always where we want. I live in PA now but still work out of Jersey. Just too expensive to pay for Jersey housing and taxes. Looks like you have a great family as well. It has been fun to look at your blog. My wife gets all the credit in our family, she is the blogger, picture taker, etc. I'm scoutmaster in our ward. Terri, my wife and Catholic mission sweetheart, is the primary pres. She converted not long after I got home. Have touched base with a few former Swiss Missionaries over the last 10 years but have pretty much lost track of everyone lately - Crowell, Swan, Bunce, Neeley, Ahlstrom, Johnson, Rampton. I have seen, spoken, or written to them in past years. I graduated from Rutgers with degree in Economics and I am now in sales. Would love to find a new job or career though. We are all doing very well though. Life in the church keeps us super busy. Glad to see you are enjoying life and have been blessed with a beautiful family. Best of luck, God bless.
